William McCririe is an attorney at Grabel & Associates who brings multiple decades of experience in criminal law. In his time working in the area of criminal law, he gained significant experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. All this time was spent before Mr. McCririe joined our firm. Mr. McCririe represents clients in all types of serious criminal charges, including:

Mr. McCririe has spent many years in his legal career working as a criminal trial attorney, both for the prosecution and defense. While his early career was mainly spent helping the government, his current passion is for helping real everyday people with their legal problems. Mr. McCririe’s experience on the prosecution side of OWI cases has given him a unique insight into how drunk driving cases are handled by police and prosecutors. He understands the corners that police tend to cut when they are attempting to force their way in drunk driving cases. Mr. McCririe understands the importance of science behind the field sobriety tests and the alcohol breath tests that are standard in drunk driving cases. This knowledge is invaluable in attacking the claims made by the police and prosecutors in prosecuting a drunk driving charge. His understanding of how a prosecutor builds their case with the assistance of the police has been key to many successful results for his clients at Grabel & Associates.
Mr. McCririe joined Grabel & Associates after working on behalf of the state of Michigan as the Senior Trial Attorney at the Livingston County Prosecutor’s office for over 16 years. His abilities as a prosecutor led to thousands of successful prosecutions of both misdemeanor and felony cases. Mr. McCririe was also active in his community, serving in local government as a member of the Livingston County Board of Commissioners. He served as the Livingston County Clerk, being appointed in 1996. Before his time as a lead prosecutor in Livingston County, Mr. McCririe worked as a city attorney for both Southfield and Lansing. He sharpened his skills as a trial attorney in these various roles, which he uses to help his present-day clients as a criminal defense attorney with Grabel & Associates.
Mr. McCririe is a Michigan native and a graduate of Brighton High School. He attended and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in pre-law. Mr. McCririe then attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School and earned his law degree. He started his legal career in 1982 after he passed the Michigan bar exam and was admitted to the Michigan bar.

Mr. McCririe followed in his father’s footsteps as an attorney and actually spent eight years in private practice working alongside his father, learning from his experience. Adding in Mr. McCririe’s father, the amount of legal experience between the two easily adds up to over 90 years.
