Sara MacGregor

Sara MacGregor is an attorney at Grabel & Associates who focuses her practice on defending substance abuse-related cases as well as defending youth who are criminally charged in juvenile cases. Ms. MacGregor has represented clients in many areas of criminal law, including:

Ms. MacGregor has a strong belief in people and in the ability of someone to change and improve themselves. She understands the deep-rooted systemic problems in the criminal justice system and will push for any client who is ready for a positive change. Ms. MacGregor’s client focused approach has helped her clients venture down a better path than they were traveling previously, so they don’t end up with criminal convictions or spend unnecessary time in jail. She is consistently there for her clients, as a guiding hand, helping them achieve successful futures. Ms. MacGregor joined Grabel & Associates in 2015 after spending about a year as a private practitioner in Manistique, MI. During this time, she took a special interest and has dedicated her life to helping people cope and overcome addiction. Ms. MacGregor serves on multiple diversionary court panels including the Schoolcraft County Drug Court, Military Veteran’s Court, and Mental Health Court. Diversionary courts allow first time offenders to avoid jail and/or criminal convictions if they can adhere to the specific requirements of their probation. Ms. MacGregor has helped clients gain the positive effects of diversionary courts to help them with their futures.

Ms. MacGregor is an Arizona native but grew up in a much colder climate in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She is a graduate of Manistique high school and Northern Michigan University, majoring in Pre-Law. Ms. MacGregor graduated with honors from Northern, earning the distinction of summa cum laude, while graduating with two minors in Communications and Chemistry. She later attended and graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She soon afterwards passed the Michigan bar exam and was admitted to the Michigan bar.

Ms. MacGregor is an active member of:

• The Delta County Bar Association; and
• The Schoolcraft, Luce, Alger, Mackinac (SLAM) Bar Association

When she is not advocating for clients, Ms. MacGregor stays active by playing golf. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
